This year we presented a new collection of metal furniture at Designblok 2022. The theme of the event was FOREST, so our designers Filip Mirbauer and Michal Strach toned down the colours and introduced a collection in light grey and a healthy shade of green. These were complemented by beech countertops with a white or natural finish. Welcome to the modern kitchen.
A new addition or an entire custom kitchen
Our kitchen collection includes wall-mounted shelves and several variations of open or closed cabinets. These units are imagined as additions to a fully equipped kitchen or as furnishings in a space for occasional use, for example, a cottage or a short-term rental. However, if you fall in love with Fleysen kitchen furniture, we will be happy to build you a complete custom kitchen.
The airiness of perforation
In order to impart the metal materials with a desired airiness, the designers made use of perforations, which are slowly becoming our hallmark. This same round shape is also incorporated into the cabinet handles, which are basically enlarged versions of the classic perforations. The collection also includes a wall-mounted pegboard, on which hooks for kitchen utensils and decorations can be hung.
Usability above all
As always, utility and function are essential to us. All of our kitchen units are easy to clean and are accented with unobtrusive details that aid in usability. For example, the sheet metal inside the opening of the handles is sloped so that its shadow guides the hand for easier opening.
The kitchen is alive – our installation at Designblok
As the kitchen is not merely the room where you cook but often a place where you greet visitors and have long conversations, the minimalist Fleysen collection provides plenty of space to display artworks and decorations. Visitors to our installation at Designblok 2022 could see in person exactly how the clean simplicity of this predominantly bright furniture interacts with design objects on display – which in this case included original objects by UMPRUM students from the K.O.V. Studio led by Professor Eva Eisler. You can take a peek at the installation in this short video.
